Activate Power

Activate Power

Ephesians 3:20

Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.

God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly….. We all love the way that sounds, who wouldn’t? The truth that there is no limitation to what God can do for and through us amazes me. But my focus today is on what I believe is the most important part of this scripture; Paul says God’s exceeding power depends on the individual (…according to the power at work in you). This truth is the clincher to that scripture and it means one simple thing; God can do any and everything but as powerful as God is we can limit him and his power in our lives.

You may say; Jide how can we can limit the all powerful God’s influence. Here’s the thing, yes God is powerful but there is one thing called the free will of man that God respects more than anything. That is why in Matthew 16:19 Jesus said whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven, He didn’t say whatever is bound in heaven is bound on earth. Earth controls what heaven happens heaven when our case is concerned. This means the power is all here and that is why God is always seeking a man to use because without us he cannot make an change to this earth. The earth he gave to the sons of men.

Psalm 115:16 The heaven are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Now we know on God’s part there is no limitation therefore we have to learn what our own role is. The simple answer is PRAYER. When we pray we make ourselves ready to tap into the abundant power of God our Father. James said in James 5:16 (AMP) …. the effectual, fervent, continuous prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available dynamic in its working. We should never stop praying because the power is generated when we keep on keeping on in prayer.

In conclusion, whose power do we use? God

What qualifies us for access? Faith in Jesus

What part do we play? Pray.

Its not all about God, we must play our role. God has played his part for the Bible says all promises are Yes and Yes in Christ. This means they are already available, all we have to do is reach out and grab it.

Remember the power in confession and declarations is not in the many words but in the conviction of the words and conviction is built by knowledge of the Bible and a consistent prayer life. You are more than able but you must realize that this happens based on how willing you are to generate power.

Pray without ceasing.

Thought of the week: As powerful as God is you can limit him when you don’t pray.
